It’s Christmas Eve, the planning, the prepping, and even procrastinating is over. Tomorrow is the big day!
If you are anything like me, your utmost desire is that Christmas day will be amazingly special to all your loved ones. More than likely you may spend weeks or months in preparation to make it a day to remember for years to come. As a child, my mom set a great example of keeping Christmas incredible. It was never about the gifts but more about the atmosphere. She would have daddy bring down all the boxes from the attic and decorate the house from top to bottom.

Tiny candy canes, little elves, tree decorations, and the nativity. I always looked forward to Christmas and it has carried on throughout my adult years.
Occasionally,
I think I drive Paul crazy hauling all those boxes up and down from the attic. It’s just a brilliant time of the year and I never want to forget how special it is.
Most importantly though, my mom remembered to teach me that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus.
During our children’s sermon at church last Sunday, I was in awe as one small girl answered every question about Jesus’ birth. Her mother and father are teaching her the most important thing to remember at Christmas, something worth remembering.
Over two thousand years ago, some shepherds were doing business as usual. Unexpectedly, an angel appeared and they experienced a night to remember. In reality, they experienced life change. This will unquestionably be a “Christmas to Remember” for our family this year. Not because of my fabulous planning, prepping or even because of my procrastinating.
Unexpectedly, this year the Holy Spirit took over my “Christmas to Remember” when three weeks ago my daughter’s family came forward at the end of our church service to make life-changing decisions for Christ.
Christmas will a day to remember as I watch my husband, Paul baptize my son-in-law, Gabe and my grandson, Dallas. It will be amazingly special!!
Just as the angels sang on that first Christmas, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
We are so pleased this Christmas and we join with the angels singing, “Glory to God in the highest heaven” for this “Amazingly Special Christmas to Remember.”
Luke 2:8-16 New Living Translation (NLT)
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. ![]()
